A-Level English Language moves well beyond GCSE into genuine linguistics: how language varies and changes, how it shapes and reflects power and identity, and how children acquire it. Students analyse real texts using linguistic frameworks and complete a non-examined investigation of their own. It's excellent preparation for degrees in English, linguistics, journalism, law and the social sciences.
