Experienced French Teacher (QTS) | Native French Speaker | GCSE & A-Level Specialist
Member since September 2026
I am a native French speaker and UK-qualified teacher (QTS) with almost 20 years of experience teaching within the UK education system, including 10 years as Head of Modern Foreign Languages. I have extensive experience teaching French from KS2 through to GCSE and A-Level and currently provide personalised one-to-one tuition to secondary students and adult learners, both face-to-face and online. My lessons are structured, supportive and adapted to each learner's individual level, needs and goals. I particularly enjoy helping students build confidence, strengthen their grammar and vocabulary, improve their speaking and pronunciation, and prepare effectively for examinations. I believe that building a positive relationship with each learner is essential. Students should feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as these are an important part of learning a language. I use clear explanations, modelling, scaffolding and regular feedback to help students recognise their progress and become increasingly independent. Whether a student needs support with GCSE or A-Level French, wants to improve their confidence and grades, or is an adult wishing to develop their conversational French, I provide an encouraging and personalised approach.

sandrine S. has experience supporting learners with special educational needs.
I adapt my teaching to each learner’s individual needs, using clear instructions, short tasks, structured tasks, visual support, modelling and scaffolding. I break learning into manageable steps, allow additional processing time where appropriate and regularly check understanding. I adapt the pace of lessons and use positive reinforcement to build confidence and reduce anxiety. I have extensive experience supporting learners with SEND and EAL and aim to create a calm, inclusive environment where every learner feels supported and able to make progress.
