I have considerable experience teaching History at A level and GCSE since 2006 and Government Politics at Level since 2009 . I was Head of Department for History & Politics at a Sixth Form Centre from 2009 to 2016 and have regular experience of being an examiner for both subjects in the past decade. This has helped me tutor students in the exact techniques for writing and structuring essays in both subjects at GCSE and A Level. My areas of historical specialisms include Modern UK history, particularly since 1945; 19th and 20th century USA; Russian Revolution/Stalinist Russia/Cold War Russia; Henry VIII; Weimar & Nazi Germany and Medicine through time in the UK. My key specialisms in American Politics include the Powers of the President, US Parties and the US Constitution and Federalism. In UK politics I've specialised in the past in the Powers of the Executive and Parliament, and Electoral Systems and their impact on democracy.

Qualifications

PhD in Agrarian and Landscape History; MA in Local and Regional History; BA (Hons) in History & American Studies (2.1). 3 A Level (History, Politics & English Literature). 8 O Levels:- English Lit & Lang, History, Mathematics, Geography, Physics, Biology & Chemistry.
