Greetings, parents! Much of my life's experience as a teacher has been international. I began in Manila, Philippines, in 2010 where my family is originally from, directing school plays. I am a lifelong theatre practitioner as well as being a teacher. Through school play directing a honed my group management and interpersonal skills with students of wide ranging ages (6 to 16). Throughout my eight years of school play directing I also taught classes in Critical Thinking, Creative Writing and English Grammar Basics. I was also able to offer Learning Support in English and History. I acquired my PGCE in Secondary English in 2021 after moving to London. My first London job was as a one-year Academic Mentor in an East London school, offering on-site tuition one-on-one as well as in small groups of up to six. Practice GCSE scores tended to improve by one or two grades. I was then a full-on English teacher in a Thamesmead academy for a year. I was in charge of Year 7 to 10. I was told by my mentor that I was one of the hardest working trainee teachers there. During my academic mentoring I was tutoring online for international schools and have resumed doing so following time as a nursery practitioner from 2023 to 2025. I have taught everything from GCSE Language and Literature to ESL for students in China. My tutoring approach is to never take anything for granted. To scrutinise even the lack of capitalisation in a poem's title. I am an exceedingly patient, encouraging and empowering tutor, who constantly seeks to calibrate sessions to meet a student's needs in the best possible way. I enjoy tutoring students of varied ages and Key Stages. I am constantly learning and looking for ways to improve my practice.
