About

I am a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher with over 30 years experience in UK Secondary schools. I have taught students from a wide range of diverse backgrounds, at all levels ranging from Key Stage 3, GCSE to A-Level mathematics. My general approach to teaching is to understand the needs of the student, exercise patience, instill confidence and belief, and challenge to fulfill potential. I have a sound understanding of the National Curriculum and, over the years, I have produced a plethora of engaging resources tailored to the needs of each student. During my time in Secondary schools I have enjoyed a variety of roles and responsibilities ranging from classroom teacher to Head of Mathematics to mentoring student teachers. During the past year I have tutored many students online ranging from year 8 to year 12, covering exam boards such as Pearson Edexcel, AQA and WJEC. I am also, currently, tutoring a student from the prestigious Kings School based in London. I generally use Microsoft Teams as my teaching platform, but I have also tutored students using other platforms. I have always loved teaching mathematics, and there is nothing more rewarding than to see students successfully achieve their goals.

PGCE Secondary education from Leeds University BEng (hons.) Mechanical Engineering. A levels in Mathematics and Physics
