I am an experienced, qualified Maths teacher with over 15 years' teaching experience and around 12 years' private tutoring experience. I currently teach Maths in further education and specialise in GCSE and A-Level Maths. I have supported well over 100 students through one-to-one and group tuition, helping students improve their grades, confidence and exam technique. My tutoring is tailored to each student: I identify gaps in understanding, explain difficult concepts clearly and use carefully selected exam questions to build confidence and independence. I have helped students make significant progress, including moving from Foundation to Higher GCSE, improving by two or more grades, and achieving the A-Level Maths results needed for their chosen university courses. I am patient, approachable and focused on helping students understand the mathematics rather than simply memorising methods.

I adapt my teaching to the individual learner, breaking topics into manageable steps, checking understanding regularly and allowing additional time where appropriate. I have experience supporting learners with ADHD, including successfully tutoring a student through iGCSE Maths to achieve a Grade 6. I also support learners with additional educational needs within my current college teaching role.
