A-Level Government & Politics Tutors

A-level Government and Politics asks students to do two hard things at once: master a large body of content — the UK constitution, parliament, the executive, parties, elections, pressure groups, and either US politics or a comparative option — and write timed essays that argue a position with evidence from current events. Students who know the material but cannot build a synoptic argument, or who argue well from examples that are five years out of date, both lose marks the examiner is explicitly told to withhold.

The political ideas component (liberalism, conservatism, socialism, plus an optional ideology) trips up even strong students, because it demands precise use of named thinkers rather than general impressions.
