Why GCSE Science matters
Combined Science — two GCSEs covering biology, chemistry and physics
GCSE Combined Science (often called Double Science or Trilogy) is the route most students take: it covers biology, chemistry and physics and is worth two GCSEs. It carries the same required grade expectations as the separate sciences and keeps every post-16 science route open, so getting a strong grade matters.
The challenge is breadth — three sciences' worth of content, each with its own recall, calculations and practicals, all under exam pressure. A specialist tutor helps a student shore up whichever of the three is weakest, master the maths-in-science skills common to all of them, and build exam technique for the longer questions.

Is Combined Science 'lower' than the separate sciences?
No — it covers all three sciences in slightly less depth and is worth two GCSEs rather than three. It keeps A-Level sciences open; the separate/Triple route simply goes a little further in each.
My child is fine in two sciences but weak in one — can a tutor help?
