Why GCSE Physics matters
GCSE Physics rewards students who can hold the concepts and handle the maths: forces, energy, electricity, waves and particles, all wrapped up with equations they must select, rearrange and apply. It's taken as a Separate/Triple science or within Combined Science, and it's the gateway to A-Level Physics and engineering.
The most common difficulties are the maths (rearranging equations, units and standard form), remembering which equation to use, and the required practicals. A specialist tutor makes the calculations systematic, links equations to the physics they describe, and drills the exam technique for the longer questions.
Every science tutor on Teachers Delivered is a qualified teacher who has taught the current specification.
Energy stores and transfers, efficiency and power — and the calculations behind them.
Circuits, resistance, mains electricity and the equations that describe them.
Density, states of matter and specific heat and latent heat.
Newton's laws, momentum and motion graphs — a big source of exam marks.
Wave properties, the electromagnetic spectrum, and (for Triple) lenses and sound.
Magnetic fields, the motor effect and (for Triple) induction and transformers.
Usually the maths mechanics: rearranging equations, units and standard form. It's very fixable — a tutor makes the calculation steps systematic and reliable.
Triple/Separate gives a full Physics GCSE; Combined covers all three sciences for two GCSEs in slightly less depth (Triple has extra topics like space and lenses). We support either.
Higher targets grades 4–9, Foundation 1–5. A tutor can advise after a short assessment.
AQA, Edexcel (Pearson), OCR (Gateway and 21st Century) and WJEC/Eduqas — matched to your child's board.
