Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9–1) Biology (1BI0). Two papers at Foundation or Higher tier, each 1 hour 45 minutes and half the GCSE.
Foundation (grades 1 to 5) and Higher (grades 4 to 9, a grade 3 can be allowed) papers have the same structure.

Does it matter that it's Edexcel?
Yes, for practice: each board splits the topics between the papers in its own way, so revise with Edexcel's topic order and past papers. Every tutor on this page lists Edexcel for GCSE Biology.
Should my child sit Foundation or Higher?
Foundation covers grades 1 to 5 and Higher grades 4 to 9. Higher suits students aiming above a 5; Foundation suits a secure 4 or 5. A tutor can usually recommend a tier after a lesson or two.
